Hi!
Welcome to my homepage. As you can see, the page is brand-new and under construction. If you are curious about what Allison Warden a.k.a. AKU-MATU, is doing, this is the place to be. This page is in blog format, and is a work in progress.
Click on my BIO tab for a biography of me – my BOOK ME tab for contact information and a description of shows that can be booked – the UPCOMING SHOWS tab for a look at what I am gearing up to do – the PRESS tab for a compilation of reviews and info about past and current shows – and the PHOTOS tab for a look at a bunch of photos from various shows. These tabs may change.
What does AKU-MATU stand for? It is a hyphenate of two of my Inupiat names – Akootchook and Matumeak. Akootchook was my great-grandfather, and Matumeak was a great-uncle who was a singer/composer/choir director. AKU-MATU is the name that I use when I rap, or MC. I love to rhyme and create beats, sing and make music, and AKU-MATU is my performance name for those mediums.
What else am I into? Fashion design, performance art, acting, some visual art, music, film editing, poetry writing, creative writing, workshop facilitation, community service, dance and storytelling. My main focus is performance art.
Keep tuned to this page, and thanks for supporting me as an emerging artist. If you want to contribute financially, I do accept donations – email me at akootchook at gmail dot com for pay pal information.
Thanks! Allison

Hi Alison,
I’m an AK writer, working on a book (fiction) about the polar bears. I heard about your Ode and would VERY much like to see it, so I’m wondering if you are going to be performing anytime in Wasilla, Palmer, Anchorage any time soon. If not, is it possible to email you and ask a few questions?
Thanks much! Dawn
