Allison Warden is an Inupiat Eskimo performance artist born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska with close ties to the village of Kaktovik, Alaska. She is currently is playing a part in “Raven’s Radio Hour” a show performed at the Alaska Native Heritage Center (ANHC) that was written by Jack Dalton and Ed Bourgeois. In May of 2008 she performed “Wait, Let Me Finish Putting On My Armor” at the MTS Gallery in Anchorage and that experience solidified her commitment and passion for the performance art medium.
She also took part in Out North Theatre’s Under 30 series, with a one-woman show she wrote and performed that touched on global warming and the fate of Alaska’s polar bear, titled “Ode to the Polar Bear”. “Ode” has been well recieved, having traveled to Homer, the ANHC and featured at the Last Frontier Theatre Conference held in Valdez, Alaska. Allison has been selected to represent Alaska at the upcoming National Performance Network Conference held in Seattle this December where she will perform an excerpt of “Ode”.
In addition to performance art, Allison loves to create and perform music. She recently won an MC contest at an Our Time 2008 event and will perform her rhymes and Inupiat influenced sounds and beats at an upcoming Rock the Vote fest.
She also designed and created future Inuit fashions for a fashion show that was filmed for “Growing Up Native In Alaska” for ANHC earlier this year.
Allison founded Uyalunaq Productions in May of this year, which will help her tour previous productions and develop new performances to share with the community of Anchorage and beyond.

Allison,
I can’t find your phone number you gave me in the airport on our return from Kaktovik. I know you’re in Seattle now for a conference, but when you’re back would you email me your number and a good time to call you? I’d like to talk to you soon about climate change issues and how you’ve addressed them creatively, for a book I’m writing. Hope to talk soon. My number, should you want to call, is 907-235-8252. Nancy
