Upcoming Events

Allison is currently in a show called “Raven’s Radio Hour” which is in the last week of it’s run at the Alaska Native Heritage Center.  Come down and see the show while you can!  The show is on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 7pm.  Doors open at 6:30 pm, cash bar, food for sale.   The show has gotten great reviews and it can be described as an irreverent take on Alaska Native stories, with some adult humor and language.  The show is two hours and the cast includes Jack Dalton, Tina Gagnon, Ethan Petticrew and Yaari Kingeekuk.  The last day of the show is September 16th.  Tickets are $20 and can be reserved at 330-8000.

From September 19-21, 2008, Allison will be a performance artist-in-residence at the Institute of the North Fall Leadership Dialogue.  Held in Talkeetna, Allison will be working alongside of photographer Oscar Avellaneda, and they will be interpreting the dialogue in real-time.  The piece is called “Audacity and Energy – the Dialogue Interpreted in Real-Time” and will be a fun interaction of the dialogue participants and the artists, with the artists taking the energy of the discussions and translating it into performance art.  She is really excited about this opportunity.

Allison will also be performing at the National Performance Network Conference that will take place in Seattle from December 11-16th.  It was an honor for Allison to be chosen to represent Alaska for this conference.  She will be performing an excerpt of her show “Ode to the Polar Bear” which has been a great success.

On February 6th, 2009, Allison will have a debut of her performance art piece, “It’s Time for the Stinky, Slick Ones” at MTS Gallery.  (www.mtsgallery.wordpress.com)  This piece will focus on the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, AFN and Native Leadership.  It will be a one-time only performance, starting at 8pm until 10pm.

Jack Dalton and Allison Warden are collaborating on a piece that will be performed at Cyrano’s Theatre during the month of April 2009.  Titled “Time Immemorial” the two-person play will explore themes around the impact of Alaska’s statehood on village life.  Jack Dalton co-wrote Raven’s Radio Hour with Ed Bourgeois, and is a world-renowned Yupik storyteller.   Allison is thrilled for the opportunity to write and collaborate with Jack and the piece is promising to be very interesting.
